Oops!

I am using the wackest keyboard ever, so if I make outrageous grammatical errors, this is why. To bring you up to date, we are in Bordeaux. On our last day in Paris we were supposed to visit Versailles then head to the Eurail station. I will sum up the day for you:

Oops! We are on the wrong rail, and have been going in the wrong direction for thirty minutes.

Oops! Versailles is closed.

Oops! The metro is broken, and we must sit in the car for an hour before the mysterious problem is fixed.

Oops, we stole some people's seats on the Eurail, and they do not seem terribly happy with us.

We definitely had some bad karma going on, so we just stayed in that evening and read. Despite the fact that all of us are disasters on two legs, we did have a wonderful day.

Random story: While we were in Paris we were sitting at a restaurant, planning out how to ditch the place because of its exceedingly slow service. While we waited for the right time to sneak off, some cops appeared. They loitered around a bit then thrust this man, who was holding a banana and bracelets into their car (car is a very generous word here). They then confiscated his embroidered bracelets, gave one to us--free of charge, before driving him and his banana to jail. At least he got to keep the banana.

Tips are included in the meal in France, that's why they don't try to be very helpful. Also, in France you have to assert yourself, plus being American is another point not in your favor...yeah, don't eat out.
