Things I have learned...

1. It is never, under any circumstances, polite to talk about eating a lamb's head, especially at the dinner table.

2. Two rail cars stuck together, averaging thirty miles an hour, is, for all intents and purposes, considered an "express train" in Eastern Europe.

3. If you tend to make sounds similiar to a tortured banshee while you sleep, do not stay in a hostel. If you do choose to stay in a hostel, do not blame others if they do not like you.

4. Backpackers often roll their own cigarettes to "save money", as they do not seem to realize that not smoking would be the greatest money saver of all.

5. If you smell BO, by all means, put on more deodorant. If you continue smelling it, it is probably not you. In fact, it is most likely the guy with the really frizzy hair that works at the front desk of your hostel.

6. Always, always, always, look out for dog poo.

7. Cream filling and salt paste look surprisingly similar.

8. Sometimes you may find yourself holding hands with a train conductor. This is okay, as long as he directs you to the proper train.

9. Don't bother asking if it is within walking distance, the answer will always be yes.

10. Sometimes "would you like to play cards" actually means "would you like to watch a pornographic movie"?

11. No matter how long you stay, you will never have enough time to do everything you would like to do.
